Warner Bros. Animation’s new series of Looney Tunes Cartoons will debut on Monday, June 10, at the Annecy International Animation Film Festival. It’s a fitting place to launch them since the first announcement about this innovative project happened last year at the festival.
Tha series marks the return of Bugs Bunny, Daffy Duck and friends, on a new shortform cartoons, and featuring a cartoonist-driven approach to storytelling, will have its world debut on Monday, 10th June, as part of the Opening Ceremony festivities, with Looney Tunes Cartoons shorts playing in front of the previously announced opening film, Playmobil: The Movie.
In addition to opening the festival, “Looney Tunes Cartoons” shorts will also participate in Annecy’s popular open-air screenings on Monday June 10, offering the general public a chance for a first look at the revamped classic.
The first “season” of the new Looney Tunes shorts will be comprised of 1,000 minutes of animation, with each short varying from one to six minutes in length. WB intends to distribute the shorts across multiple platforms including digital, mobile, and broadcast.
